The Friedhats Pop-Up Journey
From Amsterdam to Hong Kong
The past September, our Loveramics Tai Kwun store transformed into a vibrant hub of coffee exploration, thanks to a month-long collaboration with Amsterdam's celebrated Friedhats Coffee. From the first pour to the final sip, the Friedhats Pop-Up was a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, and community—an experience that left a lasting impression on every coffee lover who walked through our doors.

A Partnership Rooted in Passion Our admiration for Friedhats runs deep. Long before Lex Wenneker, Friedhats' founder, became a finalist in the World Barista Championship, we were captivated by the brand’s bold graphic identity and unforgettable coffee profiles. One cup of their Kenya single origin was all it took to spark a connection that has inspired us ever since. With our recent relocation within Tai Kwun, we saw the perfect opportunity to share Friedhats' exceptional beans with our community. Throughout September, we brewed a curated selection of Friedhats’ single-origin coffees—each cup a testament to their roasting philosophy and our shared love for quality. 
Coffee Meets Craft: In-Store Experience Visitors to our Tai Kwun store were treated to complimentary brews made from Friedhats beans, turning every shopping trip into a sensory journey. For those eager to take the experience home, Friedhats coffee beans were available for purchase—an exclusive chance to stock up on this creative brand's finest roasts. To complement the tasting experience, we offered customized Nomad Market Tasting Cups designed specifically for the Friedhats Pop-Up. Each ceramic cup featured a dual-mouth design—one side extended and open to highlight brightness and aromatic clarity, the other flatter to concentrate flow and emphasize body and texture. These subtle design differences allowed guests to explore how form influences flavor, turning each sip into a guided sensory experience. Available in two colorways and produced in limited quantities, the cups became essential tools for serious tasters and a quiet nod to the thoughtful craftsmanship behind both coffee and ceramics.  
Signature Events That Brewed Connection We didn't stop at daily tastings. Two standout events brought the Friedhats experience to life in unforgettable ways:

Friedhats Cupping Night A one-night-only tasting extravaganza, this event showcased ten unique coffees from Friedhats' Dutch roastery. From sweet blends to floral single origins, guests explored the full spectrum of flavor, culminating in a taste of the legendary Cerro Azul Gesha. Each attendee received a specially customized Friedhats tasting cup to use and keep, and witnessed espresso precision on the Eversys machine.  
Friedhats Brewing Session The intimite masterclass limited to just 10 participants for a deep dive into Friedhats' roasting philosophy. Guided by our in-house coffee experts, guests explored 8–10 coffees, learned how to maximize their tasting experience using Loveramics' tasting cup, and enjoyed espresso brewed to perfection. It was a hands-on, immersive journey into the heart of specialty coffee.  
The Friedhats Spirit Lives On As the Friedhats Pop-Up comes to a close, we’re filled with gratitude—for the inspiring partnership, the passionate coffee community, and the unforgettable moments shared. Though the event has ended, the spirit of Friedhats lives on in every cup we brew and every story we tell. A special thank you to our equipment partners—Bentwood, Eversys, and Slayer, for their invaluable support throughout the Friedhats Pop-Up. The precision and consistency of the Bentwood grinder, the innovation of the Eversys super-automatic system, and the expressive control of the Slayer coffee machine ensured every cup met the highest standards of quality.
